Morning: Travel from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay
At approximately 8:00–8:30 AM, you will meet our driver at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Then, you travel to Ha Long via the expressway in a shared vehicle.
Besides, there is a short comfort stop may be arranged along the way. To reduce waste, you should bring a reusable water bottle and avoid buying drinks in disposable plastic containers.
Next, you will arrive at the cruise port around midday and complete the boarding formalities. After a safety briefing and introduction to the cruise’s environmental practices, you will check into your cabin.
Afternoon: Responsible Cruising and Cave Exploration
You will enjoy lunch featuring Vietnamese dishes and seasonal regional ingredients. While the cruise sails between Ha Long Bay’s dramatic limestone towers. With seafood, meat and vegetarian choices may be served depending on the cruise and season.
Your first visit is Sung Sot Cave, one of the bay’s most impressive limestone caverns. Here, you will follow the designated walking path as our guide explains how water and minerals created the cave’s stalactites and stalagmites over thousands of years.
Note, the cave includes stone steps and occasionally slippery surfaces, so shoes with a firm grip are preferable to sandals. Moreover, you should never touch the formations, as natural oils from human hands can damage their delicate surfaces.
Nex, you will continue to visit Luon Cave, where a low limestone arch opens into a peaceful-enclosed lagoon. Choose between:
-
Paddling a kayak for a quiet, low-emission nature experience; or
-
Taking a bamboo boat rowed by a local boat operator.
Kayaking is suitable for beginners when weather and tidal conditions permit. You will wear your life jacket throughout the activity and keep phones or cameras in a waterproof pouch. Here, you will paddle slowly near the cliffs, keep a respectful distance from wildlife and never feed monkeys or other animals.
Luon Cave is commonly explored by kayak or bamboo boat, although access can change according to tides and weather conditions. These activities form part of many established Ha Long routes.
Evening: Sunset, Local Cuisine and Overnight Cruise
Afterward, you will return to the cruise and relax on the sundeck as the afternoon light settles over the karst landscape. Then, you will join a small Vietnamese cooking demonstration and learn how to prepare a traditional dish with guidance from the onboard team.
Dinner is served in the restaurant with a selection of Vietnamese specialties. The menu prioritizes seasonal ingredients where operationally possible, and vegetarian meals can be arranged in advance.
After having dinner, you will enjoy quiet time on deck, join a guided squid-fishing demonstration or learn more about life on the bay from the crew. Please keep outdoor noise to a minimum and turn off unnecessary cabin lights and air conditioning when leaving your room.
Spend the night aboard the cruise in Ha Long Bay.
