Leave Hanoi’s busy streets behind and discover a greener, quieter side of the capital on this thoughtfully designed three-day escape. Among the most immersive Hanoi Tours for nature and culture lovers. So, this journey combines riverside cycling, organic farming, forest trekking and meaningful exchanges with local families.

Firstly, your adventure begins in Hanoi’s Red River countryside before continuing to the green foothills of Ba Vi. Here, you can harvest seasonal produce, prepare traditional dishes and learn how rural households preserve their agricultural heritage. Besides, there is a guided walk in Ba Vi National Park introduces you to its cool mountain forest, native plants and atmospheric colonial ruins.

In addition, the experience concludes in Duong Lam, an ancient settlement known for its laterite houses, village lanes and enduring northern Vietnamese traditions. With two nights at a locally operated homestay, it will allow you to slow down. As well as enjoying home-cooked meals and experience everyday village life beyond the usual tourist trail.

Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Red River Countryside – Ba Vi Local Homestay

Meals: Lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Local homestay in Ba Vi

At approximately 8:00 AM, you will meet our local guide at your hotel in central Hanoi. After a short briefing, you will travel toward the peaceful countryside along the Red River.

Firstly, you will begin with a gentle bicycle ride through village lanes, vegetable fields and small riverside communities. Depending on local conditions, you may see farmers tending herbs, leafy vegetables, fruit trees or seasonal crops.

In addition, our guide will explain how the Red River has shaped the agriculture and daily life of Hanoi’s surrounding communities. There will be several stops for photographs and informal exchanges with local residents.

Local guide’s note: Village paths can be narrow and shared with farmers, motorbikes and livestock. Ride slowly, keep to the right and follow the guide at intersections.

Next, you will stop at a community home or countryside restaurant for lunch prepared with seasonal ingredients. The menu may include fresh vegetables, tofu, chicken, river fish and other northern Vietnamese specialties. Note, vegetarian meals can be arranged in advance.

After enjoying lunch, you will continue traveling by road toward Ba Vi, one of Hanoi’s greenest rural districts. The drive normally takes around 60–90 minutes, depending on traffic and the location of the morning activities.

On arrival, you will check in at a family-run homestay surrounded by gardens, farms and mountain scenery. Rooms are simple, clean and designed to blend with the local setting.

Later in the afternoon, you will take a guided walk around the host village. Besides, you can meet local farmers and learn about tea cultivation, medicinal plants or seasonal crops. When available, you will join the family in harvesting tea leaves or picking vegetables for dinner.

In the afternoon, you will return to the homestay for a hands-on cooking experience. Moreover, you can help preparing several local dishes using ingredients collected from the garden. Especially, your host may demonstrate traditional methods for making tofu, rolling spring rolls or seasoning grilled meat with native herbs.

In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with the family. The rest of the evening is free for conversation, reading or simply listening to the sounds of the countryside.

Eco practice of the day: Guests are encouraged to refill their bottles, avoid single-use plastic and take only respectful photographs after asking permission.

Day 2: Ba Vi National Park Forest Trek and Rural Culture

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Local homestay in Ba Vi

In the morning, you will wake to the peaceful atmosphere of the village and enjoy breakfast at the homestay. Then, you will have a typical breakfast may include Vietnamese noodles, eggs, fruit, bread, tea or locally grown coffee.

After having breakfast, you will travel to Ba Vi National Park. The road gradually climbs from agricultural land into cooler mountain forest.

Afterward, you will begin a guided nature walk beneath the forest canopy. The exact route will depend on the weather and the group’s fitness level. Along the way, our tour guide will introduce native vegetation, medicinal plants and the ecological importance of Ba Vi’s forest.

Next, you will visit atmospheric ruins left from the French colonial period. Which are now partially covered by moss and forest plants. You continue traveling along shaded trails toward a suitable viewpoint or heritage site within the park.

Local guide’s note: Ba Vi can be several degrees cooler than central Hanoi. Mist and light rain are common at higher elevations, particularly from May to September. Shoes with good grip and a lightweight rain jacket are highly recommended.

In the noon, you will enjoy a picnic or locally prepared lunch in an authorized area. Please keep all food packaging with you so that nothing is left in the forest.

In the afternoon, descend to the lower countryside for a relaxed cultural experience. Depending on the season and availability, activities may include:

  • Visiting a tea plantation and learning how fresh leaves are processed;
  • Joining a short herbal medicine walk;
  • Learning how local households make tofu or traditional rice cakes;
  • Cycling through rice fields and small agricultural hamlets;
  • Trying a herbal foot bath prepared with locally grown plants.

Later, you will return to the homestay in the late afternoon. You may relax in the garden or help your hosts prepare dinner.

In the evening, you will enjoy another home-cooked meal featuring seasonal produce and Ba Vi specialties. If conditions permit, the guide will arrange a short evening walk around the village. Light pollution is relatively low here, so clear nights can be ideal for quiet stargazing.

Eco practice of the day: Stay on marked paths, do not collect plants, and keep noise low to avoid disturbing wildlife and other visitors.

Day 3: Ba Vi – Duong Lam Ancient Village – Hanoi

Meals: Breakfast and lunch

You will enjoy breakfast at the homestay before saying goodbye to your hosts. Afterward, you will travel to Duong Lam Ancient Village in Son Tay, approximately 30–45 minutes away.

From here, you will enter the village through its traditional gateway and begin a walking. Or cycling tour along narrow lanes lined with laterite walls. These weathered structures give Duong Lam its distinctive warm, earthy appearance.

Then, you will visit Mong Phu Communal House, an important center of village ceremonies and community life. You also continue to visit a traditional family residence, where the owner will explain the layout of a northern Vietnamese home. As well as ancestral worship practices and the methods used to preserve its historic architecture.

From here, you will walk past old wells, courtyards and small temples while observing everyday village activities. Although Duong Lam welcomes visitors, it remains a living community rather than an open-air museum.

Local guide’s note: Please dress respectfully when entering communal houses, temples or family homes. Speak softly, avoid blocking narrow lanes and always ask before photographing residents.

In the noon, you will enjoy lunch in a local home or community restaurant. The meal may include countryside dishes such as braised pork, fresh vegetables, tofu, soup and chè lam. This is a traditional ginger-flavored rice confection associated with the area.

After having lunch, enjoy a final cycle through the surrounding fields if the weather permits. There will also be time to purchase local products directly from village households, such as sweets, tea or handmade goods.

Finish the day, you will leave Duong Lam in the mid-afternoon and return to Hanoi. Arrival at your hotel is expected at approximately 5:00–5:30 PM, depending on traffic.

The tour concludes after three days of nature, village hospitality and responsible exploration around Hanoi.

So glad I found Impress Travel

At first, I was just planning a trip to Hanoi, Halong Bay, and Ninh Binh for my small family.
Some close friends heard about our plans and wanted to join the trip. Eventually the group grew to be 7 families, with 25 adults and children of varying interests and expectations.
 While I was excited at the prospect of touring Vietnam with good friends, I felt anxiously responsible to ascertain that everything must be well organized and everyone satisfied. This is why I am so very, very glad to have found Impress Travel. Mr. Mark responded quickly to all my inquiries, customized a wonderful trip according to the group's preferences, tirelessly worked out every detail for our 7-day trip, all at a reasonable price. Our guide, Trung, is knowledgeable, helpful, quick to respond to any need, and well-loved by everyone in the group. All my friends found this a marvelous trip, filled with beautiful memories, very much to my delight and relief!

Hanoi,Sapa,Hanoi,Danang,Hanoi 8D7N Online searching for a reliable travel agent n come across Impress Travel. Contacted

Accommodations were good especially Thang Long Espana Hotel (the Hotel Management automated upgraded us to VIP rooms.Is really unexpected). Overalled tours n places visited very well but only local guides r not good organizing the itineraries. Especially at Sapa Lao Cai and Cat Cat Villages walking tours push to the same day about 8hours for 7km (which is on 1st&2nd days arrival) so tiring. Lunch not good enough 4 so many hours of walking. In Danang Bana Hill the local guide shd arrange 2 visit Bana Hill 1st n not last coz' spend a short time n not nice photos taken due to rain (went in morning time no rain).
Overall tours, hotels, transportation, prices are strongly recommended. Especially Daniel Dang Impress Travel for welcoming and bye-bye wishes.
Daniel Dang tks from 8 of us having a wonderful time n memorable trip for 8D7N Sapa, Hanoi, Danang with Impress Travel. Meet u all again.

5days Hanoi-Tam Coc-Ninh Binh-Halong Bay

We are family of 6 from Singapore and Malaysia joining Hanoi Impress Travel on 30 October-04 November 2019. We are really impressed with the company and tour guides with their professionalism and well organised arrangement. Lily is our guide for Hanoi, Tam Coc and Ninh Binh. She is excellent and very informative. She even taking care of us until late night. We walk us from Old Quarters to the hotel and brought us to try the famous road side foods. She even helped us to pay for our order to avoid overcharge by the stall. Another guide, David BK (Swan Cruise) brought us to Halong Bay cruise. He is excellent and humorous. He handles everything throughout the trip. He served meals for guests on the cruise, organised happy hour, guiding us for Kayaking, teaching Taiji and cooking class on cruise. The cruise ship is ok and the hotel in Hanoi-Adamas Hotel is small but new and clean with reasonable ok breakfast. Anyway thank you for the wonderful arrangement.

5D/4N Hanoi-Ninh Binh- Halong Bay

I was searching for a reliable travel agent and come across Impress Travel and the many reviews of them. I booked 5D/4N, Hanoi-Trang An-Halong Bay private trip for a party of 6. I communicated with Mr Daniel Dang throughout the time until the day we arrived. Mr Daniel is very patient, helpful, and accommodating to our requirements despite many changes made to the itinerary. The price is very reasonable unlike other travel agents.
Our tour guide, Lily was very friendly and efficientknowledgeable and speak good English.
Highly recommend “Trang An Boat Tour”. The caves was spectacular and beautifully.
2D/1N Halong Bay – Swan Cruise was awesome with amazing view of the cave. Our guide Mr David was hilarious, helpful, accommodating, and everything was well organized. Beside the normal
activities of kayaking, swimming, Tai Chi, culinary lesson, we are indeed very very fortunate to have
the chance to celebrate the “Mooncake Festival” while cruising and admiring the full moon.
Spread of mooncake, dessert, sweet snack, fruits, cocktail, beer and mini dragon dance complete the celebration. Tourists from all over the world party all night long.

Although we paid for a 3-star package, the hotel (Thang Long Espana Hotel), meals and transport provided were also above average. Our gang have a very enjoyable and memorable trip in Hanoi.
Impress Travel really impressed us with their service and will engage their service in future.
P/S:- Don’t worry, Impress Travel CAN be trusted.
