Leave the city behind and discover the clear waters, rocky coves and colorful marine life surrounding Son Tra Peninsula. This full-day coastal adventure is one of the most refreshing Danang Tours for travelers who want to experience the city from a different perspective.
From here, you will travel along Da Nang’s scenic coastline, cruise to quiet snorkeling areas near Hon Sup and Bai Nam. As well as swimming above coral habitats with support from an experienced local guide. A freshly prepared seafood lunch and time to relax on a peaceful beach complete your seaside escape.
Note, the experience follows responsible marine-travel principles. We keep groups small, use reusable drinking bottles where possible and never touch, stand on or remove coral. Rather than feeding fish or collecting shells, you will observe the underwater environment without disturbing it.
No previous snorkeling experience is required. Before entering the water, our guide will explain how to use the equipment, communicate safely and move gently above the reef.
Meals: Lunch
07:30–08:00 | Hotel Pick-Up in Da Nang
In the morning, our local guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in central Da Nang. We then follow the coastal road toward Son Tra Peninsula, with views of My Khe Beach, the East Sea and forested mountain slopes.
Local guide’s note: Wear your swimwear under light clothes to save changing time. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a dry change of clothes. Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before entering the water.
08:15 | Son Tra Coastal Viewpoint
Next, you will stop at a scenic point overlooking the Da Nang coastline. Besides, our tour guide will introduce Son Tra’s coastal ecosystem. As well as explaining why its forest, rocky shores and shallow marine habitats are important to the city.
Note, please keep food packed away around wildlife and never feed monkeys. Feeding changes their natural behavior and can make them aggressive toward visitors.
08:45 | Arrive at the Coastal Boat Station
You will meet the boat crew and receive your snorkeling equipment, including a mask, snorkel and life jacket. The guide will provide a clear safety briefing covering:
- How to fit and use the snorkeling mask
- How to breathe comfortably through the snorkel
- Safe entry into and exit from the water
- Hand signals used during the activity
- How to swim without touching coral or disturbing marine life
Note, beginners may practice close to the boat or beach before moving toward the main viewing area.
09:15 | Scenic Boat Ride along Son Tra Peninsula
Then, you will board a local boat and cruise past forested headlands, rocky cliffs and small coves. Depending on sea conditions, the captain will select the safest and clearest snorkeling sites around Hon Sup, Bai Nam. Or another suitable area along the Son Tra coast.
From here, you can enjoy the sea breeze while your guide shares stories about the peninsula. As well as local fishing communities and the changing seasonal conditions of Da Nang’s coastline.
09:45 | First Guided Snorkeling Session
Afterward, you will put on your life jacket and enter the water with assistance from the crew. Following our guide above shallow coral areas and look for small reef fish, sea urchins and other marine species.
Note: the session is designed for both beginners and confident swimmers. For guests who prefer not to snorkel may remain on the boat, swim in a designated safe area or relax near the beach.
Eco reminder: Keep a comfortable distance above the reef. Do not stand on coral, chase marine animals, collect shells or leave any waste in the sea.
10:45 | Rest and Seasonal Fruit Break
You will return to the boat or beach for drinking water and seasonal fruit. Take time to relax and enjoy the natural setting.
Single-use plastics are kept to a minimum. For guests are encouraged to refill their own reusable bottles from the drinking-water supply provided on the tour.
11:15 | Second Snorkeling Site or Coastal Exploration
If visibility and sea conditions are suitable, you will continue traveling to a second snorkeling location. The guide will choose a site with different underwater scenery, such as rocky habitats, sandy patches or another shallow reef area.
Alternatively, when currents are stronger, the group may enjoy supervised swimming, light paddling or a short coastal walk instead. Safety and environmental protection always take priority over following a fixed route.
12:15 | Local Seafood Lunch
Next, you will enjoy lunch at a simple seaside restaurant or sheltered coastal dining area. Besides, the menu may include steamed or grilled seafood, local fish, vegetables, rice, soup and seasonal fruit.
Note: vegetarian meals and other dietary requirements can be arranged with advance notice.
Local food tip: Seafood availability changes with the daily catch. Choosing locally sourced seasonal dishes helps reduce transportation and supports coastal fishing families.
13:30 | Beach Relaxation and Eco Activity
You will spend the early afternoon relaxing on the beach, swimming in a designated area. Or taking photographs of the surrounding coastline.
In addition, you may also join a short voluntary beach clean-up led by the guide. Note, collected waste will be sorted and returned to the mainland for appropriate disposal. The activity is kept brief so that it remains enjoyable while making a positive contribution to the beach.
